We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contracts Specialist to support the contract procurement process for a school district. This temporary role involves organizing, preparing, negotiating, and maintaining district-wide contracts while ensuring compliance with district guidelines and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contract Organization and Preparation:

  • Prepare and organize contracts for district-wide agreements.
  • Coordinate activities and exchange information with district personnel, attorneys, risk management (insurance), and other stakeholders.
  • Research legal and contractual standards to determine the applicability of proposed terms and recommend revisions.
  • Facilitate the submission, implementation, and execution of contract documents.

2. Contract Maintenance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records in computer database systems.
  • Monitor contract validity and ensure documentation remains updated throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Perform proper close-out procedures for completed contracts.

3. Customer Service:

  • Provide support to district personnel to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Participate in meetings and serve as a committee member as required.
  • Deliver prompt and professional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in contract administration or procurement.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and DocuSign.
  • Knowledge of general legal terminology and principles.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex issues in a confidential and fast-paced environment.
